You need to have a high quality live video DJ set published online for promoters to see.
Video live DJ sets today are THE new currency. With the boiler room trend, viral short form video dj clips are going crazy on social media.
It's simple though, if a promoter or club talent buyer can see you rock it already online, this will 100% increase your chances of getting booked. Audio sets are good, but a complete DJ set with video can really sell somebody to book you.
See whatever you choose to publish online is totally in your control now. You can get 25 friends, go to a warehouse, film a set, publish it online. You control the narrative, the energy, the art direction and look. I would put maximum effort into achieving a high production quality since this is almost like your selling point.
After you film a DJ set, put the link to it in your Press Kit so promoters and talent buyers can see it. This set is also great currency for convincing managers and agents to sign you too.
Then this live set you plan out, becomes potentially 20+ pieces of short form video content for reels, tik tok, and shorts and can help drive discovery from promoters and other important industry people. The beauty of this too, you don't even need access to a big crowd or play in clubs at all.
My favorite real life example of this working in full force was in 2020 pandemic when ISO and Knock2 did their garage sets. No access to clubs, not touring yet, but they were able to steer their art direction and play new unreleased music for people in a compelling way. These were the runway for what was to come for them. I even have a 360 b2b set online, and this definitely lead to viral clips + getting booked more.
In the current state of modern media today, video is king. If you take control of your own narrative and create a high quality video DJ set, your odds of getting booked more will definitely increase.
